Chapter 4 WiringEB3000
4-2 System Wiring Diagram
Figure 4-8
Supply power according to the rated
Power input
power specifications indicated in the user
terminal
manual (see Chapter 12 Specifications).
There may be a large inrush current
during power-on. See Section 11-2 NFB
NFB or fuse
to select a suitable NFB or Section 11-3
Fuse Specification Chart for a fuse.
Switching the power ON / OFF on the
primary side of the magnetic contactor
can turn the drive ON / OFF, but frequent
switching can cause machine failure. Do
Magnetic
not switch ON / OFF more than once an
contactor
hour.
Do not use the magnetic contactor as the
power switch for the drive; doing so
shortens the life of the drive.
When the main power capacity is larger
than 1000 kVA, or when it switches into
the phase capacitor, the instantaneous
peak voltage and current generated may
destroy the internal circuit of the drive.
AC reactor
It is recommended that you install an AC
(input terminal)
reactor at input side in the drive. This also
improves the power factor and reduces
power harmonics. The wiring distance
should be within 10 m. See Section 11-4
AC/DC Reactor for details.
Used to reduce radiated interference,
especially in environments with audio
devices, and reduce input and output side
Zero-phase
interference.
reactor
The effective range is AM band to 10
MHz. See Section 11-5 Zero Phase
Reactor for details.
Can be used to reduce electromagnetic
EMC filter
interference. See Section 11-6 EMC Filter
for details.
Brake module
Used to shorten the deceleration time of
&
the motor. See Section 11-1 Brake
Brake resistor
Resistors and Brake Units Used in AC
(BR)
Motor Drives for details.
The motor cable length affects the size of
the reflected wave on the motor end. It is
AC reactor
recommended that you install an AC output
(output
reactor when the motor wiring length
terminal)
exceeds 20 meters. See Section 11-4
AC/DC Reactor for details.
