C heck whether the slot w idth of the fork control drum is w;;hin the tolerances specified
by the manufacturer. Clearance between fork pin and g roove (with new components) :

in Wearlimil: 0 .322 in . Newforkpindiameler: 0.30 1+ 0.304 in. Wear limit: 0.295 ( · . )
in Measure with a gouge the clearance existing between the fork control pin and the
selection drum slot. If the allowed lrmil is exceeded, decide which component must
be
replaced, by comparing the different measures with those shown lor new components.
Check the wear of the drum support pins; they must
be
free from slots, flashes and
distortions. Check the clearance between the pins and the cronckcose housing and, if
rl is larger than 0.008 in (allowed iimil) replace the worr. est component.
