CAUSE
With the key disconnected,
the
battery
quickly runs down.
The engine is not efficient.
CAUSE
Gasoline inflow to carburetor is
not constant.
Corburator jets are obstructed.
Corburator throttle valves do
not open fully.
The needle of the float does
not dose correctly.
Poor quality gasoline.
Unsuitable type of spark plugs.
One spark plug is loose.
REMEDY
Check of electrical inputs.
M ake sure that all the bulds are
efficient.
a} Wi th the lights off (daytime) the
ammeter must read zero a t approx.
1000
rpm.
b) With parking lights on (nighttime)
the a mmeter must read zero ot
opprox. 1200 rpm;
c ) With the anti-dazzle lig hts on the
ammeter must read zero a t oppro x;
2200
rpm;
Check that there ore no earthed
contacts in the system.
REMEDY
Clean the fuel filter, the carburato re
filter and the feedi ng pipes; check the
proper operation
of
the pump.
Clean them with o compressed air Jet.
Ad just thro llle valves opening acting
o n the control wire adjusting screw.
C lean the corburalor and particularly
the needle seat.
Replace gasoline in the lank possibly
by refueling at a good service station.
If the spark plug is too hot, preigni·
lions, knocks, misfires, especia lly a t
high rpm will
be
noticed; if the spark
pug is too cold, ignition failure due to
electrodes short circuit will' occur. Fit
the spark plug of proper thermal de·
gree.
C losely tighten the spark plug . A
gasket must a lways
be
placed be·
tween the spark pug and the head.
CAUSE
A spark plug wire sparks
externally.
The gap between the spark
plug electrodes is too wide.
Spark plug electrodes are dirty.
The electronic control unit is
defective.
The H.V. coil is defective.
The stator plate of the electronic
ignition generator is defective.
Silencer is obstructed.
The starter does not tum on.
REMEDY
R eplace.
R eadjust to the prescribed gop i.e.
0.023 in.
C lean.
Replace it.
Replace it.
Replace it.
Restore the free flow of the exhaust
gas.
First of all makes sure the electrica l harness is regularly fixed ro rhe
boHery, rhe solenoid sforfer a nd rhe starter. If the wires ore properly
offoched it mighr be one o f rhe following foulrs.
CAUSE
The battery is down.
Faulty control device on RH
handle.
faulty solenoid starter.
Faulty starter.
REMEDY
Check the banery and recharger if
necessary.
Repla ce.
Replace.
