PGM-FI SYSTEM
2. VS Sensor Input Voltage Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the VS sensor 3P (Black) connector [1].
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Measure the voltage at the VS sensor 3P (Black)
connector of the wire harness side.
Connection: Pink/blue (+) – Green/red (–)
Standard:
Is there battery voltage?
YES
NO
3. VS Sensor Signal Line Open Circuit Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check for continuity between the VS sensor 3P
(Black) connector [1] of the wire harness side and
ECM test harness.
Connection: A32 – Pink/green
Is there continuity?
YES
NO
4. VS Sensor Signal Line Short Circuit Inspection
Check for continuity between the VS sensor 3P
(Black) connector [1] of the wire harness side and
ground.
Connection: Pink/green – Ground
Is there continuity?
YES
NO
5. VS Sensor Inspection
Replace the VS sensor with a known good one
(page 22-18).
Erase the DTCs (page 4-13).
Test-ride the motorcycle above 2,000 min
Stop the engine and recheck the MIL blinking.
Does the MIL blink 11 times?
YES
NO

Battery voltage
– GO TO STEP 3.
– • Open circuit in the Pink/blue wire
• Open circuit in the Green/red wire
– GO TO STEP 4.
– Open circuit in the Pink/green wire
– Short circuit in the Pink/green wire
– GO TO STEP 5.
– Replace the PCM with a known good one,
and recheck.
– Faulty original VS sensor
