3. N-D Shift Switch Input Line Open Circuit
Inspection
Disconnect the PCM 33P (Black) connector.
Check for continuity between the wire harness side
right handlebar switch connector [1] and PCM 33P
(Black) connector [2] terminals.
Connection: Light green/black – A18
TOOL:
Test probe
Is there continuity?
YES
NO
4. N-D Shift Switch Input Line Short Circuit
Inspection
Check for continuity between the wire harness side
PCM 33P (Black) connector [1] terminals and
ground.
Connection: A18 – Ground
TOOL:
Test probe
Is there continuity?
YES
NO

– GO TO STEP 4.
– • Open circuit in the Light green/black
wire
• Open circuit in the Black/yellow wire
A29 – Ground

– • Short circuit in the Light green/black
wire
• Short circuit in the Black/yellow wire
– Replace the PCM with a known good one,
and recheck.
