Troubleshooting
Ambient Temperature Sensor
Self-diagonis indicator light B comes on: Indicates a problem in the ambient temperature sensor circuit. Use a digital
multimeter (KS-AHM-32-003) to check it.
The ambient temperature sensor is a temperature dependent resistor (thermistor). The resistance of the thermistor
decreases as the temperature outside the car increases.
Problem in the ambient tempera-
ture sensor circuit.

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the 2-P connector
from the ambient temperature
sensor behind the front grille.
Measure resistance between the
2 terminals in the temperature
sensor half of the connector.
Is there l-7 kD?
YES
Is there approx. BV?
YES
I
AMBIENT
TEMPERATURE
NO
Replace ambient temperature
sensor.
N O
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
