When exchanging the buffer battery, remember:

Switch off the machine and the TNC!
n
The buffer batteries may be exchanged only by trained personnel!
The buffer battery powers the RAM memory when the TNC is switched off.
The batteries may be removed for exchanging for a time period not exceeding
24 hours.
Battery type: Three AA-size cells, leak-proof, IEC designation "LR6"
The batteries must be exchanged if the TNC displays the message EXCHANGE
BUFFER BATTERY.

Open the LE. The buffer batteries are located next to the power supply unit.

To open the battery case, remove the cover with a screwdriver and one-
fourth of a revolution counterclockwise.

Exchange the batteries and ensure that the battery box is closed properly.
Battery type: 1 lithium battery, type CR 2450N (Renata), Id. Nr. 315 878-01
The batteries must be exchanged if the TNC displays the message EXCHANGE
BUFFER BATTERY.

Open the LE. The buffer battery may be found to the right beside the
EPROMs of the NC software (see Position of EPROMs in Chapter 2).

Exchange the battery; the new battery can be inserted in only one position.
