6.21.2 Automatic Calculation of Cutting Data

The optimum spindle speed and the corresponding contouring feed rate is
calculated from the values entered in cutting tables for the tool and workpiece
material.
For cutters, the cutting data table lists the cutting speed and the feed rate per
tooth. For drills it lists the feed rate per revolution.

In the .CDT column of the tool table, enter the name of the cutting data table
that is to be used for that tool.

In the TYP column define the type of tool:
• DRILL = drilling tool
• TAP = tapping tool
• MILL = milling cutter

Enter the following values in the table:
• Tool radius R
• Tool material TMAT
• For cutter: Number of teeth CUT
The tool types are defined in the file PLC.\TTYP.TAB.
If you edit this file, you must enter the new name and path in the system file
OEM.SYS using the command TTYP=.
