1. Select the device in Remote Manager and click Actions > Open Console, or log into the IX40
local command line as a user with full Admin access rights.
Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection
menu. Type admin to access the Admin CLI.
2. At the Admin CLI prompt, type:

Show cellular status and statistics
You can view a summary status for all cellular modems, or view detailed status and statistics for a
specific modem.
Standalone and non-standalone 5G modes
The Digi IX40 cellular modem uses both 5GSA (standalone) and NSA (non-standalone) mode,
depending on your connection to the cellular network. When operating in NSA mode, a device will

Manual/Automatic: The device will use automatic carrier selection if this carrier is
not available.
Manual: Does not allow the device to use automatic carrier selection if this carrier
is not available.
Note If Manual is selected, your modem must support the Network technology or
the modem will lose cellular connectivity. If you are using a cellular connection to
perform this procedure, you may lose your connection and the device will no longer
be accessible.
