Setting Downlink Parameters

Several parameters are used to define the channel number (UARFCN) and logical channel type and contents
of the downlink signal to the UE while the call is connected.

"Channel Type"

"DTCH Data"

"Downlink Channel Number"

"Paging Indicator Channel (PICH) Data"

"Call Drop Timer State"

"Call Limit State"

"Signaling Radio Bearer Configuration"
"GPIB Commands for Setting DTCH Parameters"
Channel Type
The channel type can be set to either a 12.2 kbps or a 64 kbps reference measurement channel (RMC). No
other channel type is supported at this time.
DTCH Data
The DTCH data can be set to a 9 bit or 15 bit pseudo-random bit sequence (CCITT PRBS9 or CCITT PRBS15)
or set to all zeroes or all ones.
Downlink Channel Number
The downlink channel number can only be changed during Cell Off mode operation. See
"CALL[:CELL]:OPERating" on page
Paging Indicator Channel (PICH) Data
The paging indicator channel can be set to transmit either all zeroes or all ones.
Call Drop Timer State
The call drop timer can be turned off or on. When turned on, anytime the uplink signal is not detected, the test
set only waits the length of the timer before assuming the call has been dropped by the UE. This timer is
optimized for the manufacturing test environment. The timers defined in the 3GPP standards for determining
that a call has been dropped are much longer. Turning on the call drop timer allows you to quickly identify
UEs that can not maintain a call and remove them from your test area.
Call Limit State
When the call limit state is on, the test set does not respond to any PRACH preambles from the UE. This
capability is provided to give you a way to making power measurements on PRACH preambles with the
277to select operating modes.
