down down-count: Specifies that the PVC goes down when the number of successive OAM F5 loopback
cells that it fails to receive reaches the value specified by the down-count argument. The value range for
the down-count argument is 1 to 600, and the default is 5.
retry-frequency retry-frequency: Specifies the interval (in seconds) at which OAM F5 loopback cells
should be transmitted to verify a change in the PVC state (up/down). The value range is 1 to 1000. The
default is 1.
Usage guidelines
The oam frequency command is not applicable to the secondary PVCs of a PVC group.
Examples
# Enable OAM F5 Loopback detection on PVC 1/32, and set the transmission interval of OAM F5
loopback cells to 12 seconds, set the retransmission detection up-count to 4, down-count to 4, and
retransmission period to 1 second.

oamping interface

Use oamping interface to send OAM cells over the specified PVC on the specified ATM interface so as
to check the link state. If no response is received within the specified time, the link is bad or so busy that
packets are lost.
Syntax
oamping interface atm interface-number pvc { pvc-name | vpi/vci } [ number timeout ]

2: Monitor level
Parameters
atm interface-number: Specifies an ATM interface number.
pvc-name: PVC name, a unique string of 1 to 16 characters on ATM interface, case-insensitive. The name
cannot be the same as a valid VPI/VCI pair value. For example, the name 1/20 is not allowed.
vpi/vci: VPI/VCI pair. VPI is short for virtual path identifier. The value range is 0 to 255. VCI is short for
virtual channel identifier. The value range varies by interface type. VCI values from 0 to 31 are reserved
for special purpose. HP recommends not using them. For more information about the value range,
see
Table
38.
number: Number of OAM cells to be transmitted consecutively, in the range of 1 to 1000. The system
default is 5.
timeout: OAM response timeout period in the range of 1 to 30 seconds. The default is 2 seconds.
Examples
# Check the link state of PVC 1/32 on interface ATM 1/0, sending three cells and setting timeout period
to one second.
