Parameters
ip-address: IP address of the remote peer to be created.
backup backup-address: Creates a backup remote peer with the IP address of ip-address. The
backup-address argument is the IP address of the primary remote peer, which must be created prior to
this backup remote peer.
immediately: Enables the secondary remote peer's TCP connection immediately after the primary remote
peer's TCP connection fails. Without this keyword specified, the system enables the secondary remote
peer's TCP connection only when the primary remote peer fails to establish a TCP connection after two
attempts.
circuit-weight circuit-weight: Specifies the virtual circuit weight for the remote peer. The circuit-weight
argument is in the range of 1 to 100 and is not configured by default. If the option is not set, the value
is the default virtual circuit weight you set when enabling DLSw load balancing. When you enable DLSw
load balancing, the virtual circuit weight of the equivalent remote peer is used to determine the peer with
which a link is established.
keepalive-interval: Interval in seconds between keepalive messages, in the range of 0 to 1200. The
default is 30 seconds. A value of 0 indicates no keepalive will be sent.
seconds: Timeout period of the backup connection after the primary remote peer is restored, in units of
seconds. The range is 0 to 3600 seconds, and the default is 60 seconds.
lsap-output-acl acl-number: Number of the ACL used for SAP address-based filtering. The value range for
the acl-number argument is 4000 to 4999. The SAP-based rules in the ACL are used to filter the packets
sent to the remote peer.
max-frame-size: Maximum frame size in bytes. Valid values include 516, 1470, 1500, 2052, 4472, 8144,
1 1407, 1 1454, and 17800. The default is 1500 bytes.
max-queue-length: Size of the TCP input/output queue, in the range of 50 to 2000. The default is 200.
priority: Transmission priority in the range of 1 to 5. The default is 3.
Usage guidelines
After a local peer is created, a remote DLSw peer should be created to establish a TCP connection. This
command specifies the IP address of the remote router with which a TCP connection is to be established.
After the configuration, the router will keep attempting to establish a TCP connection with the remote
router. A router can have multiple remote peers.
Before creating a backup remote peer connection, make sure that a primary remote peer has been
created.
