6.3 Accessing the Device through CLI
You can use the following methods to access the CLI of the device:
6.3.1 Log into the Device using Terminal Emulator Programs
1. Open the terminal emulation program and set the following connection properties:
•
Com Port: <COM1, COM2, etc., depending on your computer>
•
Baud rate: 115200
•
Data Bits: 8
•
Stop bits: 1
•
Flow Control: None
•
Parity: None
2. Under File > Properties > Settings > ASCII Setup, disable the Send line ends with line feeds option.
3. Enter the CLI password (default username is admin and password is public).
6.3.2 Log into the Device using Telnet/SSH
To log into the device using Telnet
1. Confirm that your computer's IP address is in the same IP subnet as the device.
2. Go to the DOS command prompt on your computer.
3. Type telnet <IP Address of the device>.
4. Enter the CLI's default username and password, (default username is admin and password is public).
:
• Proxim recommends changing your default passwords immediately. To perform this operation, use CLI commands.
• If you have not configured the device IP address previously and do not have a DHCP server on the network, the device will
use the default IP address: 169.254.128.132.
• The username and password are case-sensitive. If you enter an incorrect password, then a message is displayed stating
that the password is incorrect.
6.4 Command Line Interface Modes Overview
The Command Line Interface (CLI) is divided into different command modes. Each command mode has its own set of
commands that manages the network operations. The commands that are available depends on the mode that you are in.
CLI operates in two main modes:
