enable netlogin session-refresh

enable netlogin session-refresh {<minutes> |session-keepalive-interval
<seconds>}
Description
This command enables network login session refresh; it also configures the session-refresh timeout and
the session-keepalive interval.
Syntax Description
minutes
session-keepalive-interval Specifies the session keepalive interval in seconds.
Default
Disabled, with a value of three minutes for session refresh.
The default value of the session keepalive interval is 120 seconds.
Usage Guidelines
Network login sessions can refresh themselves after a configured timeout. After the user has been
logged in successfully, a logout window opens which can be used to close the connection by clicking on
the LogOut link. Any abnormal closing of this window is detected on the switch and the user is logged
out after a time interval as configured for session refresh. The session refresh is enabled and set to three
minutes by default. The value can range from 1 to 255 minutes. When you configure the network login
session refresh for the logout window, ensure that the FDB aging timer is greater than the network
login session refresh timer.
This command applies only to the web-based authentication mode of network login.
The
enable netlogin session-refresh
option was disabled earlier using the
reset the refresh minutes to default value.
The session keepalive interval sets the interval between HTTP/GET/goodbyepopup messages sent from
the client to the switch. After successful login, this value is sent to the client to indicate how frequently
the client should send the HTTP/GET/goodbye popup messages. If the switch does not receive or
process any HTTP/GET/goodbye popup message from the client within the session refresh period, the
switch will log out the client.
The value of the session-keepalive-interval should be greater than 20 seconds and less than the
session-refresh timeout.
The value of the session-refresh timeout should be greater than the session-keepalive-interval.
