enable transceiver-test

For an Alpine switch:
enable transceiver-test [all | slot <slot number> {backplane} ]
For a BlackDiamond switch:
enable transceiver-test [all | slot <slot number> | msm-a | msm-b | msm-c |
msm-d]
Description
Enables an integrity test of the transceivers used for communication between the ASICs and the CPU on
an MSM or an SMMi module.
NOTE
This command is available only on modular switches.
Syntax Description
all
Specifies all of the slots in the chassis.
slot number
Specifies a single slot in the chassis.
backplane
Specifies the backplane of the chassis.
NOTE: This option is available only on Alpine switches.
msm-a
Specifies the MSM module installed in slot A.
NOTE: This option is available only on BlackDiamond switches.
msm-b
Specifies the MSM module installed in Slot B.
NOTE: This option is available only on BlackDiamond switches.
msm-c
Specifies the MSM module installed in slot C.
NOTE: This option is available only on BlackDiamond 6816 switches.
msm-d
Specifies the MSM module installed in Slot D.
NOTE: This option is available only on BlackDiamond 6816 switches.

Usage Guidelines
The
enable transceiver-test
a problem with the system and to test the integrity of the transceivers.
To determine if you have the transceiver test enabled and the failure action the switch takes, use the
command. The following is sample transceiver test output:
show switch
Transceiver Diag: Enabled.
