configure auth mgmt-access tacacs primary [<ipaddress> | <hostname>]
{secondary [<ipaddress> | <hostname>]}
Description
Configures authentication of management sessions for TACACS servers.
Syntax Description
primary
secondary
ipaddress
hostname
Default
Unconfigured. Uses RADIUS for authentication for management sessions. If RADIUS is not enabled,
TACACS+ servers are used. If neither RADIUS nor TACACS+ servers are configured, local
authentication is used.
Usage Guidelines
Use this command to authenticate all the management sessions through TACACS+ servers. The
TACACS+ server should be configured before using this command. This command fails if the primary
and secondary TACACS+ servers are not configured.
The following types of management sessions can be configured:
• Telnet
• SSH
• Console
• HTTP
If you are using TACACS+ authentication servers, you should only use TACACS+ accounting servers
for accounting management sessions. TACACS+ authentication servers should be configured before
configuring TACACS+ accounting servers for management sessions.
Example
In the following example, management sessions for both the primary and secondary servers are
configured for TACACS+:
configure auth mgmt-access tacacs primary 192.168.14.12 secondary 192.168.14.55

Configures the secondary TACACS+ authentication server that is used for management sessions.
The IP address of the primary and secondary authentication servers.
The host name of the primary and secondary authentication servers.
NOTE: This option is available only on the "e" series switches.
