Cause
Short circuit in DC bus
Load on DC bus
Insulation error in DC bus
Final value of DC bus voltage is not reached within a
maximum time
Inadmissible voltage fluctuations in supply mains.
Mains voltage has inadmissibly dropped during soft
start process
Device is defective

During the soft start process (loading of DC bus capacitance) the DC bus
voltage curve is monitored. Great deviations suggest a defect in the
power section and are diagnosed with the error F2816.
Remedy
Check DC bus wiring, remove if there is a short circuit
Check DC bus wiring; if an external braking resistor has
been incorrectly connected, connect it correctly
Check DC bus wiring; if wiring is alright, there can be an
insulation error within device or other devices connected
to DC bus. To find defective device take connected
devices out of drive system step by step (remove wiring)
Check whether there is defect at load externally
connected to DC bus
Check mains voltage
Replace device
