8.8 MVLAN Port Setting Screen

Click Multicast > MVLAN in the navigation panel to display the MVLAN configuration screen. When
creating or editing a MVLAN, click a line card's index link to open the following screen where you
can edit the membership settings of the card's ports.

DESCRIPTION
Set whether to process IGMP/MLD packets if the destined multicast group belongs to an MVLAN
but the port which received the IGMP/MLD packets is not a member of the MVLAN.
pass: Forward the IGMP/MLD packets in the original VLAN.
discard: Drop the IGMP/MLD packets.
Select this check box to turn on the MVLAN.
Enter a descriptive name for this MVLAN for identification purposes.
Enter the VLAN ID (VLAN Identifier) for this MVLAN; the valid range is between 1 and 4094.
Specify the IEEE 802.1p priority (0~7) to use for this MVLAN's traffic. The system changes the
priority in IGMP protocol messages snooped on a member subscriber port to the priority you
specify here.
This field displays the number of the card in this list. Click a non-management card's index
number to open a screen where you can edit the membership settings of the cards ports.
This field displays the model of the installed card.
This section shows each port's membership in the MVLAN.
F: The port is a permanent member of the MVLAN.
X: The port is prohibited from joining the MVLAN.
-: MVLAN does not apply to the MSC's Gigabit Ethernet ports.
Click Apply to save the changes in this screen to the system's volatile memory. The system
loses these changes if it is turned off or loses power, so use the Config Save link on the
navigation panel and then the Save button to save your changes to the non-volatile memory
when you are done configuring.
Click New to start configuring the screen again.
Click Cancel to start configuring the screen again.
Select a MVLAN's Select radio button and click Modify to edit the MVLAN.
Select a MVLAN's Select radio button and click Delete to remove the MVLAN.
This field displays the ID number of the MVLAN. Click it to edit the multicast group that the
MVLAN uses.
This field displays the descriptive name for this MVLAN.
