Follow the specified order for loosening cylinder head bolts
– Remove bolts -arrows-.
– Release the cylinder head bolts in the order -1 ... 10-.
Follow the specified order for tightening cylinder head bolts
– Tighten cylinder head screws in the order -1 ... 10- as follows:
1. Pre-tighten with the torque wrench to 40 Nm.

4. Pretighten screws -arrows- to 4 Nm.

Tighten screws -arrows- further by 90° (
Checking cylinder head for distortion
– Check the cylinder head at several points for distortion using
the 500 mm knife-edge straightedge - VAS 6075- and feeler
gauge.
♦ Maximum permitted distortion: 0.05 mm
