– Check the TDC position of the crankshaft; the flattened part of
the crankshaft -arrow- must be in horizontal position.
– Attach one mark to the cylinder block -1- with waterproof felt-
tip pen.
– Mark the tooth -1- of the three-stage chain sprocket at mark
-2- with waterproof felt-tip pen.
– Turn the intermediate shaft wheel and balancing shaft to the
marks -arrow-; do not undo the screw -1-.
Note
The coloured chain links of the balancing shaft timing chain must
be in the area of markings on the chain sprockets.
– Place on the balancing shaft timing chain; the coloured chain
links -arrows- must be in the area of markings on the chain
sprockets.
