Rear Knuckle, Wheel Bearing / Oil Seal Removal And Installation (4Wd Model) - Suzuki Liana RH413 Service Manual

2C-22 Rear Suspension:
11) Upon completion of all jobs, depress brake pedal
with about 30 kg (66 lbs) load three to five times so
as to obtain proper drum-to-shoe clearance.
Adjust parking brake cable. Refer to "Parking Brake
Inspection and Adjustment in Section 4D".
12) Install wheel and tighten wheel nuts to specified
torque.
13) Check to ensure that brake drum is free from
dragging and proper braking is obtained.
14) Lower hoist and bounce vehicle up and down to
stabilize suspension.
15) Tighten control rod outer bolts and trailing rod rear
bolt to specified torque with vehicle weight on
suspension. Then check toe.
Tightening torque
Control rod outer bolts and trailing rod rear bolt
(d): 98 N·m (9.8 kgf-m, 71.0 lb-ft)
16) Perform brake test (foot brake and parking brake).
17) Check each installed part for fluid leakage.

Removal
CAUTION
!
Once bearing outer race is removed, bearing
set (outer race, bearings and inner races)
should be replaced with new one.
1) Remove wheel hub. Refer to "Wheel Hub, Wheel
Stud / Wheel Bearing Outside Inner Race Removal
and Installation (4WD Model)".
2) Remove knuckle from vehicle. Refer to "Rear
Knuckle Removal and Installation (2WD Model)".
3) Remove outside oil seal (1) and snap ring (2) from
knuckle.
4) Remove inside oil seal (6) from knuckle (5).
3. Outside bearing
: Do not reuse.
5) Remove bearing outer race / inner bearing using
special tool and hydraulic press.

Installation
CAUTION
!
Be sure to use new wheel bearing set and
S3RH0A2306023
wheel bearing oil seal.
1) Press-fit new bearing outer race / inner bearing (3)
using special tools.
