1. Oil seal
Unscrew the pinion nut no. 5.
REQUIRED TOOL
SPANNER SOCKET (P/N 529 035 649)

1. Pinion nut
NOTE: The pinion nut is left hand threaded. Un-
screw by turning clockwise.
Remove bearing no. 6 and pinion gear no. 7 to-
gether.
NOTE: Be careful to keep track of shims no. 8.

RECOMMENDED TOOLS
Pipe: 89 mm (3-1/2 in) diameter x 127 mm
(5 in) in length
Screwed rod: M12 x 1.25, 178 mm (7 in)
length
M12 x 1.25 nut

Remove and discard O-ring no. 13.
Remove bearing no. 6 from pinion gear no. 7.

Remove and discard the needle bearing no. 9.
Front Differential Adjustment
A shimming procedure must be done when Visco-
Lok carrier/ring gear, pinion gear or housing is (are)
changed.
Install recommended shims accordingly with the
following table.
