Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
acl [ number ] acl-number1 [ match-order { auto | config } ]
The ACL view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
rule [ rule-id ] { deny | permit } [ fragment-type fragment-type-name | source
{ source-ip-address source-wildcard | any } | time-range time-name | vpn-instance
vpn-instance-name ]
An ACL rule is configured.
Step 4 Run:
quit
Return to the system view.
Step 5 Run:
bfd
The BFD view is displayed.
Step 6 Run:
echo-passive { all | acl basic-acl-number }
The BFD passive Echo function is enabled.
l all: enables the passive Echo function of all the BFD sessions.
l To enable the passive Echo function for a BFD session that matches the configured ACL

5.3.3 Checking the Configurations

By viewing the status, type, and Echo function status of a BFD session, you can check whether
the configurations are successful.
Prerequisites
The configurations of the BFD passive echo function are complete.

rule, specify the acl parameter. When you configure an ACL rule, specify the permit
parameter for both the local and remote devices' source addresses. You can enable the passive
Echo function for BFD control packets that match the permit action and disable the passive
Echo function for BFD control packets that match the deny action or do not match any ACL
rules.
NOTE
If an ACL rule is created or changed after a BFD session goes Up through negotiations, this ACL rule can
take effect only after the BFD session goes Down and then Up or the parameters of the BFD session are
changed.
