Procedure
Step 1 Configure devices to ensure network connectivity. For configuration details, see the
configuration file of this example.
# Assign 2001:db8::100 to backup group 1 functioning as a default gateway for host A and
2001:db8::60 to backup group 2 functioning as a default gateway for host B.
Step 2 Configure OSPFv3 on Router A, Router B, and Router C. For configuration details, see the
configuration file of this example.
Step 3 Configure a VRRP IPv6 backup group.
# Assign an IPv6 address to GE 1/0/0 on Router A; create backup group 1 and backup group 2
on GE 1/0/0; set the VRRP priority to 120 for Router A in backup group 1 so that Router A is
the Master in backup group 1 and the Backup in backup group 2.

Step 4 Verify the configuration.
# After completing the preceding configurations, ping host C from host A and host B. The pings
are successful. Run the display vrrp6 command on Router A. The output command shows that
backup group 1 and backup group 2 have been successfully created, in which Router A is the
Master in backup group 1 and the Backup in backup group 2.
