Configuration Guide - Reliability
Networking Requirements
Hosts are connected to a network through gateway routers. To improve network reliability,
configure a VRRP backup group to work in master/backup mode on gateway routers. If multiple
VRRP backup groups run on a device, configure the backup groups to work in load balancing
mode to load-balance traffic.
On the network shown in
l
Router A functions as the master device in VRRP backup group 10 and the backup device
in VRRP backup group 20.
l
Router B functions as the master device in VRRP backup group 20 and the backup device
in VRRP backup group 10.
l
Host A uses the virtual IP address of VRRP backup group 10 as a default gateway address,
and host B uses the virtual IP address of VRRP backup group 20 as a default gateway
address. The two backup groups back up each other and load-balance traffic.
