Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1.
Assign an IP address to each interface of each Router and configure OSPF on each
Router to ensure network connectivity.
2.
Configure a VRRP IPv6 backup group on routers and set different VRRP priorities for the
devices to determine the master or backup state for the routers, which ensures device-level
reliability for network links.
3.
Configure a peer BFD session on Router A and Router B to monitor the link between
Router A and Router B.
4.
Configure a VRRP IPv6 backup group on Router B to track the BFD session and allow
Router B to increase its VRRP priority by 40 to trigger a master/backup VRRP switchover
if the BFD session goes Down.
5.
Configure the VRRP IPv6 backup group to track a VRRP-disabled interface connecting
Router A to the upper-layer network so that Router A can reduce its VRRP priority and
trigger a master/backup VRRP switchover if its tracked interface goes Down.

session with the one-arm Echo function can be configured on the BFD-enabled device. After receiving
BFD packets sent by the BFD-enabled device, the device that does not support BFD directly loops
back the packets, implementing rapid fault detection. For detailed configuration procedures, see

BFD session is used, its configuration is similar to that of the peer BFD session, with the exception
that the IP address of a directly connected interface is specified in the bfd bfd-name bind peer-ip
command to configure the link BFD session.
