FUEL SYSTEM (Programmed Fuel Injection)

Rem ov e the rear cowl (page 2-2).
Remove the two bolts from the rear fender.
TEST HARNESS CONNECTION
Conn ect t he peak voltage adaptor to th e digital
multi meter.
TOOLS:
Peak vo ltage t est er (U.S.A. onlyl or
Peak vo ltage adaptor 07HGJ-0020100
(not available in U .S.A.) with commercially
available digital multimeter (impedance 10 M /DCV
minimum)
Open and support the front end of fuel tank
(page 3-4).
Disconnect the fuel pum p/reserve sensor 3P
connecto r.
Use this procedu re for the ignitio n pulse gene rato r
and cam pulse generato r inspection.
Check all system connections before inspection. If
the system is discon nected. incorrect peak voltage
mig ht be measu red .
Check cylinder comp ression and check that all the
spark plugs are installed correctly.
Use the recommended digital multimeter or corn -
merc ially available digital multi meter with an
im pedanc e of 10 M jDCV mi nimum .
If th e Imrie d iag nost ic t ester (mode l 625) is used,
follow the manufactu rer's instruction .
The display value differs depending upon the inter-
nal im pedance of the mult im eter.
Disconn ect the fuel pump connecto r before check-
ing the peak vo ltage .

tester probes
to prevent electric
shock.

Dis conn ect th e ECM 22P (Black ) and 22P (Light g ray)
connect ors from the unit.
