CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Turn th e cra nksha ft clockwise, ali gn the " T" mark on
the ignition pul se generat o r rotor w ith the index ma rk
o n the right crankcase co ver.
Make sure th e No.1 pisto n is at T OC (Top Dead Center)
on the compression stroke.
Turn the t en sio ner lifter shaft f ully in (clockwise) and
sec ure
it
us ing the f oll owing too l.
Thi s t oo l ca n eas ily be made fr om a t hin (1 mm thi ck-
ness ) pi ece of stee l.
Rem o ve th e ca m chain t en si on er lifter sea ling b olt
and sea li ng washer.

It is
notnecessary
to remove the
cam sprocket
from the
camshaft except
when replacing
the camshaft
and/or cam
sprocket.
Be carefulnot to
drop the cam
sprocketbolts
into the
crankcase.
If

et , loosen th e ca m sproc ket bolts as fo ll ow:
- Rem o v e the ca m sprocket bo lt s fr om intake and
exh au st cams ha fts.
