INSTALLATION
Place the master cyl inder onto th e ma in footpeg
bra cket, install the master cylinder mounting bolts.
Con nect the brake peda l t o the push rod low er joint .
Inst all th e jo int pi n and
secure it
with a new cotter pi n.
Inst all t he drive r footpeg bracket o nto the fram e. tig ht -
en the socket bolts to the specified t o rq ue.
TORQUE: 27 Nom (2.8 kqf-m, 20 Ibfoftl
lighten t he master cy li nder mount ing bolt s to th e
spec if ied to rq ue.
TORQUE : 10 Nom (1.0 kgfom , 7 Ibf o ft)
Inst all the brake hose with t he o il bo lt and new seal-
in g w ashers .
Push th e eye let join t against t he stop per, th en t ig ht en
the o il bolt to th e speci fied t o rqu e.
TORQUE : 34 Nom (3.5 kgfom, 25 Ibfo ftl
HYDRAULIC BRAKE
FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
Avoid spilling fluid
on painted, otes-
tic, or rubber
parts. Place a rag
over these parts
wh enever the
system
is
serviced.
Inst all and tighten th e brake reserv oir m ou nting
bol t/nut to t he specified torque.
TORQUE: 10 N om (1.0 kqf-rn, 7 Ibfoftl
Con nect the brake light switch 2P (Black) connector.
Fill the reservoi r to the upper lev el and bleed th e
brake system (page 15-4).
REMOVAL
Drain the f ront brake hydraulic system (page 15-41 .
Rem ove th e oi l bo lt. seali ng w ashers an d brake hose
eye let joint.
Remove th e cali per mounting bolts an d cali per.
Rem ove t he brake pads (page 15-7).
