MAINTENANCE
Check the tires fo r cuts, embedded nails, o r other
damage.
Check the front and rear wheels for trueness (refer to
section 13 and 14).
Measu re the tread depth at the center of the ti res.
Repl ace t he t ires w hen the tread dept h reaches the
follow ing limits.
MINIMUM TREA D DEPTH:
FRONT: 1.5 mm (0.06 in)
REAR: 2.0
mm
(0.08 in)
STEERING HEAD BEARINGS
Check that the co nt rol cables do not interfere with
handlebar rotation.
Support the motorcycle securely and raise the front
wheel off the ground.
Check that the ha ndle bar moves freely fro m side to
side.
If t he handl ebar m oves unevenl y, binds, or has vert i-
cal movement, in spect the steeri ng head bea ring s
(Section 13).
