OIL PRESSURE INSPECTION
If the oil pressure
indicator light
remains on
a
few
seconds, check
the indicator sys-
tem before check-
ing the oil
pressure.
Check the oi l level (page 3-161.
Wa rm up the engine to normal operating tempe ratu re
(approximately 80·C/ 176' F).
St o p the engine and remove th e oi l m ain ga llery sea l-
in g bolt.
Connect an oil pressu re gauge and attachment to the
main gallery.

St art t he engine and increase t he rpm to 6,000
mtn-'
(rp m) and read t he oi l pressure.
OIL PRESSURE:
490 kPa (5.0 kgf/cm'. 71 psi) at 6,000 mtrr" (rpm)/
(80'C/176'F )
LUBRICATION SYSTEM
St o p the engine and remove the tools.
Apply a locki ng agent to the sealing plug threads.
Install and tighten the sealing plug t o the spe cified
torque.
TORQUE: 29 N'm (3.0 kgf'm, 22 Ibfoft)

Dra in the engine oil (page 3-17 ).
Remove th e ex hau st pipe (page 2-6).
Remove the oil pan flange bolts and o il pan.
