4. CALCULATE RESULT COMPAR ISON
Compare the measurement to the result of t he f oll ow -
ing calc ulat ion.
With the throttle fully open:
Measure d inp ut voltage X 0.824 = Vo
The sensor is normal if the measurement output volt-
age measured in step 2 is with in 10% of Vo.
With the throttle fully closed:
M easur ed input voltage X 0.1
=
Vc
The sensor is normal if the throttle closed output
volt-
age measured in step 3 is within 10% of Ve.
Using an analog meter, check that the needle of the
voltmeter swings slowly when the th rottle is opened
gradually.
CONTINU ITY INSPECTION
Open and support the front end of fuel tank
(page 3-4).
Disconnect the ECM 22P (light grayl connector and
the TP sensor 3P co nnector.
Check for con t inuity between t he wire harness and TP
sensor.
If th ere is no co nt inuit y, chec k fo r an open or short ci r-
cuit in t he w ir e harness.
BANK ANG LE SENSOR
INSPECTION
Suppo rt the motorcycle o n a lev el surface.
Remove the rea r cowl (page 2-3).
Turn the ignit io n switch ON and measu re the voltage
between the following terminals of the bank angle
sensor connector with the connector connected.

Do not disconnect
the bank angle
sensor connector
during inspection.

Remove the screws, washe rs, nuts and bank angle
senso r.
