COOLING SYSTEM
Before ins talling
the cap in the
lester. wet the
sealing surfaces.
RADIATOR CAP/SYSTEM PRESSURE
INSPECTION
Remove the radiator cap (see previous page).
Pres sure test t he radiat o r cap.
Repl ace the radiator cap
if
it does not hold pressu re,
or
if
re lief pressure is too hi g h or too low.
It must ho ld specif ied pr essu re for at least 6 seconds.
RADIATOR CAP RELIEF PRESSURE:
108 - 137 kPa (1.1 - 1.4 kg/lem'. 16 - 20 psi )
Pressure the rad iator, engine and hoses. and check
for leaks.

I
Excessi ve pressure can damage the cooling system
components. Do not exceed 137 kPa (7.4 kgflcm'.
20 psi).
Repair or replace components if the system will not
hol d specif ied pre ssure for at least 6 seco n ds.
COOLANT REPLACEMENT
PREPARATION
The effectiveness of coolant decreases with the
accumulation of rust or if there is a change in the
mixing propo rtion during usage. T herefo re, for
best performance change the coolant regularl y as
specified in the m aint enance schedule.
Mix only d ist illed, low mineral wa ter with the
anti-freeze.

REPLACEMENT/ AIR BLEEDING
Remove the rad iator cap .
