PISTON INSPECTION
Temp oraril y install the piston rings to their proper
position
with
the mark facing up.
Measure the piston ring-ta-ring groove clearance with
the rings pushed into the grooves.
SERV ICE LIMI TS:
Top: 0.08 mm (0.003 in)
Second: 0.07 mm (0.003 in)
Insert the piston ring squarely into the bottom of the
cylinder and measure the ring end gap .
SERVICE LIMITS:
To p: 0.5 mm (0.02 in)
Second: 0.7 mm (0.03 in)
Oil (sid e raul: 0.9 mm (0.04 in)
M easur e the piston pin bore.
SERVICE LIMIT: 17.03 m m (0.670 in!
M easure the diam eter of the piston at 15 mm (0.6 in)
from the bottom and 90 degrees to the piston pin
hole.
SERVICE LIMI T: 70.90 mm (2.791 in!
