FUEL SYSTEM (Programmed Fuel Injection)
STARTER VALVE ARM
Install the starter va lve ar m s onto th e sta rte r v alves.
Install and tighten the starter valve arm mounting
scre ws to the specified torque.
TORQUE : 1 Nsrn 10.09 kg/.m, 0.7 IbMtl
Inst all the st arter valve cab le/t hrott le st op co ntrol no b
(p age 5·64).
Turn the starter va lve screw unt il it seats lig htly, th en
back it out as noted during remova l.
Inst all the t hrottle body (page 5·66).
STARTER VALVE SYNCHRONIZATION
NOTE:
Sy nchroni ze t he sta rt er valve wit h th e eng ine at th e
no rm al operatin g temperatu re and w ith the t ra ns-
mission in neutral.
Use a tachometer with graduations of 50 rpm or
smaller t hat w ill accu rate ly indicate 50 rpm change.
Op en an d su pport the fron t en d of fue l ta nk
(page 3· 15).
Rem o v e t he No .1 and No .4 vacuum tubes f rom the
throttle body.
Connec t th e tubes to t he vacuum ga uge.
Co nnect t he tacho meter.
