CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL
Drain th e coo lant (p age 6-4 ),
Remove the cam shaft (page 8·6) .
Rem ove th e cyli nder d ra in bolt and sea ling was her.
Drain coola nt fro m cy linder hea d and cyli nder block.
Chec k th at t he seali ng w ashe r is in good co nd itio n,
rep lace if necessary.
Rein st all th e sea ling washer and d ra in bo lt .
Rem ove t he soc ket bo lts, sea li ng was he rs and cam
cha in t en sio ner lift er and gasket.
Rem o ve th e cap nu t, sea ling was her and cam cha in
tensioner.
Disco nnect the water hose.
Remove the thermostat housing cover and
thermostat.
Loosen the
9 mm Remove th e ten 9 mm bo lts/was he rs.
bolts in a
crisscross pattern
in 2 - 3 steps.
Remove the two 6 mm fl an ge bo lts .
