TROUBLESHOOTING
SPEED SENSOR/SPEEDOMETER
The odometer/trip meter operate normally, but the speedometer does not ope rat e
• Fault y speedomete r
The speedometer operate nor m ally, but t he odometer/trip meter does not operate
• Faulty odometerltrip meter
The speedometer operation is abnormal
Check for the following before diagnosing .
- Blown ma in or sub fuses
- Loose or corroded te rminals of the co nnectors
- Discharged battery
Check for lo ose o r poor contact of t he speed
senso r 3P (Na tura l) con nector.
With the ign itio n switch ON and measure the
vo ltage at the speed sensor connector.

Check fo r loose o r poor contact of the combina-
tion meter multi -co nnect ors.
With the ignition switch ON, measure th e volt-
age at t he bottom of the speedometer termi-
nals.

Wi t h the ig nition switch OFF, check for continu-
ity of the Pink/g reen wire between the te rmi nals
of the spee d sensor and speedom et er.
