upper crankcase
are the codes for
the bearing sup-
port 1.0.5 from
left to right.
Numbers (1, 2 or
3)
on
the crank
weight are the
codes for the
main journal

left to right.
Install the dowel pins and oil orifices .
Carefully install the lower crankcase on t he uppe r
crankcase .
Appl y engine oil to the main journal 8 mm bolt
threads and seating surfaces and instal l th em .
Tighten the 8 mm bolts in a crisscross patte rn in 2 or
3
steps.
TORQUE : 27 N sm 12.8 kqf-m, 20 lbf-ft]
Remove the 8 mm bolts and lower crankcase.
M easure the co m pressed plastig auge at its
widest point on each mai n journ al to dete rmin e t he oil
clea rance .
SERVICE LIM ITS: 0.04 mm (0.002 in)
If
main
bearin g clearance is exceeds the servic e limi t,
select t he correct repla cement bearings.
BEARING SELECTION
Record the crankcase bea ring support 1.0. code lette rs
from the pad on the left side of the upper cra nkcase as
shown.
Record th e co rresponding main journ al 0 .0. code
numbers from the crank w eight.
Cross reference th e main journal and bearin g supp ort
codes to determin e the replacement bearing colo r
code .
