DRIVE CHAIN GUIDE PLATE
INS PECTION
Remove the drive sprocket co ver and gu ide plate.
Check the d rive cha in guide plate fo r wea r or da mage
and rep lace if necessary.
BRAKE FLUID
NOT E:
Do not mi x different types of flu id , as t hey are not
compatible w ith each other.
Do not allow fo reign material to enter t he system
when filling the reserv oir.
Avoid spilling fl uid o n paint ed, plas t ic o r rub ber
parts . Place a rag over these parts wh enever the
system is serviced.
W hen the flu id leve l is low, check th e br ake pa ds fo r
wear (see nex t page). A lo w fl ui d level may be du e t o
wea r of t he brake pads. If the br ake pa ds are worn ,
the caliper piston is pushed out, and th is accounts fo r
a low reserv oir level. If the bra ke pads are not worn
and t he fl uid level is low, check entire system for leaks
(see next paqe),
FRONT BRAKE
Turn the handleb ar so t hat the reservo ir is level and
ch eck the front bra ke fluid reserv oir level.
If th e leve l is near the lo we r level lin e, check t he brake
pad w ear (see below) .
REAR BRAKE
Place the moto rcycl e o n a leve l surface, and su pport it
in an up right positi on .
Check t he rear br ake fluid reserv oir level.
If the level is near t he lower lev el line, check the brake
pad wear (see below).
