FUEL PUMP
INSPECTION
Turn the ignition switch ON and confirm that the fuel
pum p operates for a few seconds.
If the fuel pump does not oper ate, inspect as follows :
Open and support the front end of the fuel tank
(page 3-151 .
Disconnect the fue l pump 3P connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON and measure the voltage
between the termina ls.
Connection: Brown
(+ ) -
Green t-l
There sho uld be battery vo ltage for a few seconds .
If the re is battery voltage. replace the fuel pum p.
If the re is no battery voltage, inspect the following:
- Ma in fuse 30A
- Sub fuse lOA
- Engine sto p sw it ch (page 19-19)
- Fuel cut rela y (page 5-48)
- Eng ine st op relay (page 5-76)
- Bank angle sensor (page 5-751
- ECM (page 5-76)
REMOVAL
NOTE:
Before disconnecting the fuel hose, release the fuel
pressure
by
loosenin g the fuel hose sealing nut at
the th rottle body.
Alw ays replace the sealing w ashers w hen the fuel
hose sealing nut is remo ved or loosene d.
Rem ove the fuel tank (page 5-49).
Remove the fuel pump mo unting nuts.
Rem ove the fue l pump assemb ly and packing.
