CONNECTION:
Black/brown (+1 - Green H
Standard: Battery voltge
CONNECTION:
Red/green

If th ere is no vo lt age, ch eck for th e foll owing :
- W ire harn ess
- Batt er y
- fuse

Di sconn ect the sp eed sen sor 3P co nnect o r.
Disconn ect the combin atio n 9P (Bla ck) co nnec tor.
Wit h t he ignitio n switch OFF, check fo r continuity of
th e Pin k/g reen w ire betw een th e sp eed sen sor co n-
nect or an d co mbinat io n meter t ermin al.
Th ere sho uld be co nt inuity.
If th er e is no continuity, check t he wire harn ess.
Support the m ot orcycl e using a h oi st o r ot her suppo rt
t o ri se th e rear whee l off the g round .
Measure th e vo ltage at t he co mbin atio n m et er t ermi -
nal s with the ignition switc h ON w hile slowly turning
th e rear w hee l by hand.
CONNECTION:
Pink/green (+1 - Green H
Standard: Repeat 0 to 5 V
If t he m easurem ent is o ut of specification, in sp ect th e
o pe n circuit in w ire harness.
SPEED SENSOR
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove th e air cleaner h ousin g (page 5-53).
Disco nnect the spe ed se nso r 3P co nnector an d check
for loose o r poor cont act of th e co nnecto r.
