CLUTCH/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
Apply a locking agent to the th reads of th e oil pump
dr iven sprocket bolt .
Tighten the driven sprocket bolt to the specified
to rq ue.
TORQUE: 15 N·m (1.5 kgf.m, 11 Ibf.ft)
Be careful not
to
bend the igniti on
pulse ge nerat or
rotor tangs.

Align the primary drive gear and sub-gear t eeth with
a screwdriver as shown.
Insta ll the clutch o uter.
Be sure th e clutch o uter sits securely onto the posi-
tion ing tabs of the oil pump drive sprocket. Rotate th e
oil pump dri ve cha in while insta lling the clutch oute r
to prop e rly seat it.
Make sure th at the prima ry driven gear of the clutch
o uter is flush w ith the prima ry drive
sub- pear.
Release the cam chain tensioner (page 8-26) .
Insta ll the washer onto the clutch ou te r,
Install th e clutch center.
Install th e thrust w ashe r.
Install the lock washer with its "OUTSIDE " mark
facing out .
