11.10.2 Interpreting the Cartridge Diagnostic Test

This test plot has a Black band about 1/4" high and 4 sets of Yellow,
Magenta, and Cyan bands. Above the colored bands will appear two
rows of numbers and a Black diagonal line which is divided into 104
sections. The two row of numbers, the Black diagonal line, and its first
ten sections are illustrated in Figure Chapter 4 .5 below. (For the
purposes of this procedure, you will not need to be concerned with the
two rows of numbers and the colored lines printed above the Black
diagonal line.)
Each section of the Black diagonal line corresponds to one jet on the
Black Cartridge. The numbers below the Black diagonal line are read
from right to left (and from top to bottom for two- and three-digit
numbers) to identify each jet. For example, beginning with the bottom
row of numbers and reading from the right side of the plot, jet number
1 is the portion of the diagonal line between the numbers 1 and 2, jet
number 2 is the portion of the diagonal line between numbers 2 and 3,
and jet number 9 is the portion of the diagonal line between numbers 9
and 10. See the sample in Figure Chapter 4 .5 below.

If any jets are not firing, the section of the diagonal line for that jet will
be missing. If any jets are not firing (that is, there are gaps in the
diagonal line), go on to Section 11.10.3 "Black Cartridge Flex Test"
below.
