Servo Motor

5.1

Removing the Servo Motor

While removing the Carriage Belt and the screws on the Servo
Motor, don't touch the Encoder Strip with any tools.

NOTE
To remove the Servo Motor, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the power cord and the interface cables.
2. Remove the Top Cover.
3. Remove the Trailing Cable Cover from the Y-Arm in order to have
easier access to the Frame Tensioner and to the screws which
hold the Servo Motor in place. Use a 5/16 Hex Nut Driver to
remove the three nuts which secure it to the back of the Y-Arm.
4. Use a #2 6" Phillips screwdriver to remove the back screw on the
Servo Motor. See Figure Chapter 5 .11.
5. Loosen the front screw on the Servo Motor. See Figure Chapter 5
.11.
6. See Figure Chapter 5 .12 and Figure Chapter 5 .11. While you
compress the back of the Frame Tensioner with your left index
finger, use your right hand or the straight end of the Scriber to
gently remove the Carriage Belt from the Servo Motor pulley.

The Stand has a cutout in it which allows you to remove the
Servo Motor without removing the Plotter from the Stand.
