Storage of Cartridges During Extended Periods of
Inoperation
If the Cartridges are left in the plotter:
1. If the plotter is not used for an extended period of time, it is
preferred that the Cartridges remain in the plotter with the Carriage
parked at the Service Station. Make sure that the Cartridges are
properly capped in the Service Station.
2. When you are ready to use the plotter again, you may need to run
the PRIME plot several times.
procedures above in Section 6.1 "Initial Installation of Cartridge"
and in Section 6.2 "Cleaning Cartridges" if the PRIME plot is
unsatisfactory.
If the Cartridges are removed for an extended period of time:
1. Blot the ink off the nozzle plate area (the nozzle plate area must
be completely dry or the protective tape will not stick).
2. Put the protective tape back on the Cartridge and return the
Cartridge to the original container.
3. Place the container in a plastic bag with the jets facing up so that
ink won't drain or leak out, causing clogging.
4. Store the Cartridge in a closed area (desk or storage cabinet) at
room temperature for best results.

above in Section 6.1 "Initial Installation of Cartridge."

Refilled Cartridges

ENCAD does not recommend or support the use of refilled Cartridges.
