storage for data. Data will be lost when power is removed.
A graphic image created by dots called bitmaps. The plot is
defined in terms of pixels (dots) rather than as vectors.
Each pixel is defined by a bit. A bit that is "on" will print a dot
on the media. A bit that is "off" will leave the area blank.
The act of repeating. In plotting, the ability of a plotter to
return to a predetermined location on the plot with a given
amount of accuracy.
The plotter's menu-driven instruction to return the plotter to a
predetermined status.
The sharpness of a printed image as measured by dots per
inch. The number of dots per unit of area to which the
plotter may be addressed.
Media that is packaged on a roll and is loaded and fed
through the back of the plotter.
Read Only Memory. Permanent electronic storage for data.
Used to store the plotter's internal instructions. There is no
data loss when power is removed.
Differential communication serial port with a mini-Din
connector compatible to Apple/Mac.
Single-Ended Communication that requires conversion of
the mini-Din to a DB-9 or a DB-25.
Blocks that count data to sequence the ink jet firing.
Dividing of the plotting area into units convenient for the
plotting application.
Points which have been assigned user unit values in the
(SC) instruction. These points define the user coordinate
system mapped into the area defined by P1 and P2.
An interface type which uses a single data line to transfer all
data bits sequentially between devices.
parallel interface.
A self-correcting closed loop electromechanical system that
compares an output signal to an input or feedback signal.
