Reinstalling the Trailing Cable

Make sure that the silver fingers on the Trailing Cable face up
before inserting the Trailing Cable into the J1 connector lock. See
WARNING
Figure Chapter 5 .19.

NOTE
1. See Figure Chapter 5 .20 during this procedure.
P/N 204142 (Fixture, Tape, Trailing Cable, Location) flat on the
Stabilizer Bracket so that the two cutouts are facing you and the
right end of the fixture fits over the left edge of the approximately
2 inch cutout at the right end of the Stabilizer Bracket. Apply 2
pieces of 2" double-sided tape to the Stabilizer Bracket. Do not
remove the top protective cover on the tapes yet. Remove the
fixture after the tapes are in place.
2. Place the Trailing Cable on the Stabilizer Bracket.
3. Route the right end of the Trailing Cable through the Right Side
Plate (see Figure Chapter 5 .29) and connect the Trailing Cable
connector at the JP4 location on the MPCB. Be sure to slide both
sides of the connector lock shut at the same time.

4. Connect the Trailing Cable to the J1 connector lock on the
Carriage PCB. Make sure the silver fingers on the Trailing Cable
face up before inserting it into the lock. See Figure Chapter 5 .19.
Slide both sides of the connector lock shut at the same time.
CADJET 2
The placement of the double-sided tape which is in the center
of the Trailing Cable is important for proper movement of the
Carriage Assembly. You may want to obtain P/N 204142,
"Fixture Trailing Cable, Tape, Location," which is used for the
exact placement of both tapes when installing the Trailing
Cable, and P/N 204483, "Fixture Trailing Cable, Location,"
which is used to accurately install the Trailing Cable.
