Note: 1. If the plotter is "brain dead" (i.e., the Flash EPROM is blank

or corrupt), the firmware must be downloaded to the plotter
using the Serial Port and the "Emergency Flash ROM Boot
Procedure" on the CADJET 2 Utilities Disk. See Appendix A
of this service manual for the procedure.
2. If the plotter is not "brain dead" (i.e., the Flash EPROM is not
blank or corrupt) but does not have the latest firmware
version, the firmware may be loaded through the Parallel Port
or the Serial Port (parallel is faster) using the Printer
Firmware Upgrade on the CADJET 2 Utilities Disk.
Appendix B of this service manual for the procedure.
3. If the Carriage Assembly has been removed or changed,
or if the Carriage Height has been changed, you must do
whichever firmware download is appropriate (even if the
plotter has the latest firmware version) and perform the
"Adjustment

Section 6.5.2 below during the download.
