4. The Carriage Belt may not be properly tensioned.

5. Servo Motor cabling may be intermittent. Check the connections.
6. Check the screws which hold the Servo Motor in place to make
sure the Carriage Belt is not rubbing on the screws. (If the screws
were installed at an angle, they may work out of the hole and
could interfere with the belt.) See Chapter 5, Section 5.0.
7. The Slide Shaft alignment may be too low, causing the Cartridges
to drag on the media or hit the Upper Roller Supports. Refer to
the alignment procedures for the shaft in Chapter 6, Sections 6.0
and 6.1 "Slide Shaft Profile Adjustment (Carriage Height
Adjustment)."
8. There may be debris on the inside of the metal bushings of the
Carriage Assembly.
Q-Tip or a lint-free cloth.
Using a sharp or metal object to remove debris from the inside of
CAUTION
the metal bushings will damage the bushings.
See Chapter 5, Sections 8.2 and 8.3 "Removal of Carriage
Assembly" and "Reinstallation of Carriage Assembly" for removal
and reinstallation procedures. If cleaning the bushings does not
resolve the problem, replace the Carriage Assembly.

Check the idler assembly frame tensioner, spring, and pulley
at the top left end of the plotter.

Make sure the belt is properly installed in the Belt Clamp.
Also check to see if the Belt Clamp is cracked. Refer to
