8. Once the Shaft Profile/Height to Platen is measured and recorded
in all three locations, verify that the height numbers (all
measurements) fall within 1.4340 +/- .0100".
If the measured numbers do not fall within 1.424-1.444", stop the
procedure and call ENCAD's Technical Support and Service
department. See Chapter 1, Section 3.0.
CADJET 2
Lift the gauge and move it to the center position of the shaft
(left of the Turnbuckle Block - see Figure Chapter 6 .2).
Record the display's reading in the box marked "CENTER" in
Part 1 of the Calibration Worksheet.
Lift the gauge and move it to the left position of the shaft
(aligned with the Inner Stand Off Screw - see
Figure Chapter 6 .2).
Record the display's reading in the box marked "LEFT" in
Part 1 of the Calibration Worksheet.
On the lines marked "LEFT" and "RIGHT" in Part 1 of the
Calibration Worksheet, write the readings obtained in the left
and right positions and add them up.
Divide the result by two and write down the result (the
average).
If the gauge's reading in the center is equal to this result (the
average), then no profile adjustment is necessary; otherwise,
lift the gauge and move the Carriage to the center position
and perform the following adjustment:
Adjust the Shaft Profile/Height in the center of the Platen
by turning the Turnbuckle up/down (see Figure Chapter 6
.2).
Observe the display and set the height at the
average number (within +/- .001" tolerance) obtained
above in Step 7.b. above.
